As a core member of the team, you will help define the era of autonomous construction.This is a rare opportunity to:Work on hard, meaningful problems that impact the future of infrastructure and energy.Collaborate with a world-class team from NASA, SpaceX, Tesla, Google, Built Robotics, and others.Rapidly grow, learn, and lead within a quickly scaling company.ResponsibilitiesOwn hardware components and systems such as primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and enclosuresFull product lifecycle ownership from requirements collection, trade studies, preliminary and detailed design, structural analysis, and overseeing manufacturing, integration, testing, and customer deliveryWork with manufacturing, electrical, software, and product engineers to develop innovative new solutions to complex interdisciplinary problemsWork with vendors and suppliers to find creative solutions to tight deadlinesSet milestones, plan roadmaps, and deliver on ambitious timelinesRecruit, mentor, and build a world-class engineering organizationRequirements3+ years of professional engineering experienceExcellent first-principles understanding of statics, dynamics, heat transfer, materials, and corrosionExpert mechanical design skills using CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, PTC Creo, etc. and FEA analysis with ANSYSStrong understanding of designing for manufacturing processes such as CNC milling/lathing, sheet metal bending, welding, and 3D printingExcellent communication and project management skillsThrive in fast-paced environments and push boundaries to meet deadlinesBonus5+ years of professional engineering experience in mechanical designExperience designing or developing high volume large form factor products like automobiles and construction equipmentExperience in mechanical design of ultrahigh reliability products like spacecraft and medical devicesManagement and recruiting experience
