Starting with Cosmic-1 – a system that installs solar panels 10x faster than today’s methods, helping us transition to a clean energy future and laying the groundwork for the future of autonomous construction.The RoleAs a Robotics Software Engineer, you will write, test, and ship code to robots working on live projects in the field. As a core member of the team, you will help define the era of autonomous construction.This is a rare opportunity to:Work on hard, meaningful problems that impact the future of infrastructure and energy.Collaborate with a world-class team from NASA, SpaceX, Google, Built Robotics, and others.Rapidly grow, learn, and lead within a quickly scaling company.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement software for robotic manipulation, navigation, and path planning systemsContribute to the full software stack, from low-level motor control and sensor integration up to high-level application logicEnsure the safety and reliability of mission-critical systems through rigorous testing and adherence to engineering best practicesCollaborate with the hardware team to bring up new systems and troubleshoot issuesTravel to customer projects for on-site testing and deployment of robotic equipment in the fieldMaintain code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and documentationRequirements2+ years of professional engineering experienceExcellent C++, Python, and Linux development skillsStrong fundamentals in algorithms, software architecture, planning, and executionExcellent communication and project management skillsThrive in fast-paced environments and push boundaries to meet deadlinesExcellent communication and project management skillsThrive in fast-paced environments and push boundaries to meet deadlinesBonus5+ years of professional software engineering experienceAdvanced degree in robotics or a related fieldExperience developing with ROS 2 and associated packages (Nav2, MoveIt)Experience in robotics simulation packages (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim)
